Hartford Athletic will open Dillon Stadium to 50 percent capacity for fans in 2021

The Hartford Athletic announced Friday the club will open Dillon Stadium to fifty percent capacity during home matches for fans during the 2021 season.

The Athletic will host 16 USL regular season matches, starting with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on May 15. In addition, fans can also attend the team’s home friendly match on May 4 against New England Revolution II.

Spectator health and safety protocols will be determined in the upcoming weeks through the club’s communication with the City of Hartford and the State of Connecticut. During the 2020 season, the club allowed 25 percent capacity for home matches.

“Last season, in partnership with City and State leaders, we demonstrated that fans could safely attend Hartford Athletic matches. We are thrilled to once again host our fans at Dillon Stadium in 2021,” said Hartford Athletic Chairman Bruce Mandell in Friday’s release. “Thank you to all local and state government officials who approved an increase in attendance and continue to put trust in us to keep our fans safe. Coach Watling, our players, and our entire organization cannot wait to open the doors for our regular season home opener on May 15th.”
